Social Media Etiquette - For Business

SOCIAL MEDIA ETIQUETTE for Business

(do's and don'ts of social media)

Most of us now have and use some kind of social media, weather it Facebook or Twitter, or even Google.they are all very good for marketing your business or product..the trouble is when do we do it? what time is best or what day?, to even what to post?..hopefully with this post I can show just what
to do to get the most from your social media post.

Facebook Etiquette:

1. Its OK to post several times, but space
out every few hours
2. Respond to Post - The good and bad
3. Know the power of the Hashtag - one is good per post
4. Use the 80/20 rule - entertain and inform first, then sell your product.
5. Dont comment on other peoples business page saying "like my page"
6. Use a second person when mentioning your product
7. Only ask people to like your status if your doing a poll
8. Use good quality pictures with your post - nothing worse than a blurry picture of your product.

In Conclusion: post entertaining content regularly, and make make them feel welcome to your page.

Twitter Etiquette:

1. respond to all comments and questions as quick as you can
2. Dont use all 140 characters, gives people room to retweet you
3  Keep it all positive, as negitive brands will not attract new followers
4. use your company logo as your profile picture, people will soon recognise you
5. Avoid tweeting to much personal stuff, nobody wants to know what you ate for tea
6. Be fussy with your follow backs, you want active followers, that are in your country. There are a lot that just follow and do nothing - you dont want these... active local people
7. #Remember #too #many #hastags #just #look #ridiculous  need I say more

In Conclusion: Engage with your Followers!. Twitter is about quick, easy conversation, Keep your updates short and your response time shorter.

Google Etiquette:

1. Always plus mention a user when commenting on posts
2. When sharing a post, always use your commentary first
3. Google Plus is one of the only platforms that allow you to format your posts, helping your posts easier to read with bonding, italics, and strike-throughs
4. Be gracious, everybody like to be thanked for sharing posts
5. Edit your followers into circles so that you can share targeted content to the right groups.
6. Create your circles into your marketing list, for targeting the right audience.

In Conclusion:  Helpful Engagement! Google plus is all about helpful engagement, be sure to share valuable information and include people in the conversation by mentioning them.
